trying to reach to is an important factor affecting peace and stability in the middle east. in 1980-1990, iraq demonstrated two times that it was a determining element in reaching hegemony. on the other hand, iran tried to prove itself as a balancing power in the middle east. even, it tried to spread islamic fundamentalism. following these goals ended in a harsh conflict between the two countries. this piece of writing has tried to explain the reasons and the results of the iran- iraq war and its impact on the domestic and foreign policy of turkey briefly.
